Configuring login notes to appear as pop-up messages in Winbox, that also display in the terminal is quite easy, and can be done in just a few simple steps.

Firstly, login to your Mikrotik router. Navigate to System > Notes:

Once clicked, the “System Notes” window will appear:

Show at Login: If enabled will show your note as an onscreen pop-up when you first login to the router via Winbox.
Show at CLI Login: If enabled will show your notes as a print out in the command line when using the terminal (this includes SHH).
Note: What you type in this field will be the contents of the displayed note.

Once you have configured your note, click on “OK”.

This is how your note is displayed in Putty when SSHing into your router.
